This is the write-up of a presentation given at the symposium on Multivariate Data Analysis of the Three Country Corner (3CC) local group of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) at Janssen Pharmaceutica NV (Beerse, Belgium) on November 21, 2005.

The symposium was organized by Luc Bijnens (Johnson&Johnson PRD, Beerse, Belgium) with contributions of Michael Greenacre (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, Spain), Luc Wouters (Barrier Therapeutics NV, Geel, Belgium) , Hinrich Goehlmann and Rudi Verbeeck (Johnson&Johnson PRD, Beerse, Belgium), Dan Lin and Suzy Van Sanden (University of Hasselt, Belgium).

The symposium focused on the analysis of multivariate data from microarray experiments in the field of genomic research with applications to drug design.
